Indoor Range Usage re Coronavirus (COVID-19)

with No Comments

Please note that the Committee have taken the decision to stop all further use of the indoor Range at the sports club with immediate effect due to the growing threat posed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

This decision has been taken to minimise the risk of the spread of the virus in a confined environment like the Range.   Indeed, for this reason we have taken the decision to stop all further sessions of the current Introduction to Archery course to reduce the risk to coaches/helpers and the course attendees.

It should be noted that we normally stop using the Range for the indoor practice season at the end of March so this action will only bring the deadline slightly forward.  Unfortunately it will also mean that the Mental Skills session set for Sunday 29th March will also have to be postponed.

Members can continue to shoot outdoors at our designated shooting locations at the sports club for the time being subject to people adhering to the guidance that can be found on the Archery GB and NHS websites regarding dealing with the virus threat.  However, please do not come to the field to shoot if you are feeling unwell.  If we receive any instructions regarding future use of the sports club from Bournemouth University who are the owners of the site, we will of course advise all members.

We will continue to closely monitor the virus situation in the coming weeks and months.

We trust that you will appreciate the reason behind this decision which is designed to minimise the risk to members during these challenging and unprecedented times
